The vigilance department of Odisha Police has arrested 6 persons in connection to the digital embezzlement of govt funds in Public works department of Odisha. Till now the vigilance has confirmed that the embezzlement of government funds amounting to not less than Rs.9,24,10,193/-.
As per the release of the Vigilance department, Today, Two staffers of the Office of SE in R&B Division-I of Bhubaneswar named Dipak Kumar Routray & Laxman Biswal, both and 2 Data Entry Operators namely Rajib Lochan Senapati and Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra have been arrested. The Vigilance team apprehended them for collusion with Banalata Mohanty, Section Officer, and Bibhudutta Nayak, Jr. Assistant in connection with embezzlement of government funds.
During further course of investigation, vigilance has revealed that they were all working under accused Banalata Mohanty, Section Officer and Bibhudutta Nayak, Jr Asst and had received huge amounts from the embezzled funds in their personal accounts. The vigilance has searched and found out that Peon Dipak Kumar Routray, was transferred with Rs.32,47,800/-, Laxman Biswal, was transferred with an amount of Rs.16,21,484/-, Rajib Lochan Senapati, Pvt Data Entry Operator (engaged by accd Section Officer Banalata Mohanty) -Rs. 28,28,817/- and Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra, Pvt Data Entry Operator (engaged by Banalata Mohanty) was transferred with an amount of
-Rs.35,69,098/- .

In this connection, accused persons Smt.Banalata Mohanty, Section Officer and Bibhudutta Nayak, Junior Assistant have already been arrested by Odisha Vigilance.
All 6 accused persons will be forwarded to the court today.
